主人公の双子六兵衛は家中一の憶病者と言われ
本人もそう信じ込む程だった。
喧嘩口論が嫌いで、犬が怖い。
ところがどうしたことか
そんな六兵衛が、上意討ちの討手を買って出た。
相手は半槍と剣の名人と言われるお抱え武芸者・仁籐昂軒。
剣術の稽古すらろくにしたことのない六兵衛が
尋常で勝てる相手ではない。
