@The jobless Shinbei Matsumura which lives in a back row-house is
always drinking Sake.
He always drinks very cheap Sake in a tavern to which everybody
of an row-house goes.
If a worker becomes sick or there is a person troubled by work within
an row-house, he will send rice and bean paste nonchalantly, or
will give money.
He says to the men always in this way.
"This is gold carried out using alcohol. when troubled, I will
help each other"
He does not make the partner who receives assistance feel an inferiority
complex.
Therefore, he is called teacher to everybody of an row-house, and
is adored.
Everybody of an row-house, and Mr. Matsumura's heartwarming
tale.

even afraid of little dogs. In fact, he is a samurai who has never
learnt how to handle a sword. So why has he agreed to become the
Lord of HikoneÕs official avenger, a task that will bring him face
to face with the great swordsman, Koken Nito.

This is a program
of The Theatre Chipping Norton of Britain that went in March this
year
The Cowardly Samurai is based on the story set in the Edo era
written in 1964 by Shugoro Yamamoto
A samurai, Rokubei Futago is a coward. He hates fights and quarrels,
he is even afraid of little dogs. In fact, he is a samurai who has
never learnt how to handle a sword. So why has he agreed to become
the Lord of Hikone's official avenger, a task that will bring him
face to face with the great swordsman, Koken Nito.

šKatsuhiko Ueyama
Worked for some time with the Tokyo Shingei Theatre Company and
then left to form the Fantastic Theatre Company. Among other productions,
he has presented and performed in a series of ten plays written
by the playwright Yasutaka Tsutsui. He has also appeared in a number
of classic theatre productions including Shakespeare, and a wide
range of radio plays. Since 2000 he has presented a number of staged
play readings.

šSakoto Yoshioka
After graduating from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts
she joined the Shiki Theatre ‚ompany. Her many stage musical appearances
with the company include "Phantom of The Opera" and "Children
Of The Storm". Since leaving the company she has performed
frequently both in concert and on the stage. Among recent stage
musical appearances are "42nd Street" and "I Have
A Dream". Straight theatre performances include "Playhouse
Creatures" and "Waiting For The Parade".

Itoh
Graduated from the Toho Drama School. Studied the Satsuma Biwa
(Japanese Lute) with Oshu Yoshida. Among many theatre performances
he has appeared in a number of Yukio Ninagawa productions including
"Per Gynt", "Hamlet" and "Ninagawa-Macbeth".
Film appearances range from "Ran", "Yume" and
"Mada Daiyo" directed by Akira Kurosawa, to "Marusa
No Onna", "Marusa No Onna 2" and "Daibyo Nin"
directed by Juzo Itami. Other film directors he has worked with
include Higashi Morisaki and Takashi Koizumi.

šTomoko Tsuboi
She graduated from the department of Japanese music of "Tokyo
Art University".
The Japanese music technician training meeting of the 40th term
which NHK sponsors is taken.
A prize of the 1st place is won in the "Miyagikai" koto
music contest of the 29th time.
An encouragement prize is won in the national "Kenjun Kinen"
koto music contest of the 5th time.
The Japanese music audition of NHK is passed.
Prize for an excellent work is won in the national "Nagatani
Kengyo"
.
A prize of the 1st place is won in the Japanese music section of
the "JILA" music contest of the 5th time.
